ARTHUR RUDOLF 1876 - 1940

Arthur Rudolf Jacobs and Mary Augusts Doll raised four children.  Late in life Mary accused Arthur of infidelity and moved to Arizona taking with her Elsie and Edward.  The basis for the claims related to Arthur meeting with a woman at a residence each day that Arthur claimed was a surprise retirement home he was renovating with the owner simply allowing entry prior to the close of escrow.

Marie and husband Charles staunchly defended Arthur against the accusations.  Mary had claimed Arthur was not buying the home but in fact, research conducted in writing the Jacobs Family Story found evidence in the form of an insurance policy that proved Arthur in fact bought the home.  None the less, Mary proceeded to leave at a time when Marie was terminally ill and did not return to Buffalo for her funeral.

This event split the Jacobs and Finnigan families far apart, a separation that lasted more than 80 years and likely contributed to Arthur's premature passing at the young age of 63. Arthur remained close to the Finnigan family, picking up the children from school daily and coming by 499 to pickup frames the Charlie made for his paintings.
